The upload doesn't end at a fixed time.... there are two conditions
1. The number of seconds approximated has to be 0
2. Only when the upload hits 0 can the second step be carried out, which is, the little file has to close over the bean.
So, if you're downloading, and the file shuts when there's 1 second left, a new crewmate will spawn at the left end and run to the right, and the upload will only end when he reaches the file, *NOT* when the timer hits 0, which is why the download would take longer.
